Sunday Scoop-"Repent"

Sometimes it seems like the sun's not going to shine. Sometimes it feels like you wake up to nothing... and perhaps no one. Sometimes you get depressed and feel down whether it's because of guilt, shame, or maybe you're not able to pin point it. Life gets hard and throws you a curve ball- what do you do?
First and foremost, I've learned through my relationship with Jesus that feeling sorry for myself or dwelling on what's been done has gotten me no where in the past- I only dug myself a deeper hole. I was letting the devil win! Through repentence, the Lord has taught me to forgive myself just as He forgives me- to let go of my past whether it was a year ago or 3 hours ago. We will ALL make mistakes and at the time it may feel like a regret... but when you look back on your life and you think of potential "regrets"- they're not regrets at all; they are learning experiences. I'm sure you have heard the saying "Everything happens for a reason", and this is so very true. The Lord gives us the option of turning regrets into miracles- the past into a brighter future- and the darkness into light. He is a forgiving God!
Therefore, asketh and you shall receiveth. When you ask- ask with compassion and trust Him with all your heart and soul. Don't look back on what can't be undone- look to the future to what can be done!!! He's soooo powerful!!!!

"Renounce your sins by doing what is right, and your wickedness by being kind to the oppressed. It may be that then your prosperity will continue." - (Daniel 4:27)

Good stuff gal. Great post that I think we should all take to heart,. It doesn't do us any good to live in the past. Something interesting to note about that verse in Daniel is that it is only when we renounce our sins by DOING what is RIGHT and by being kind to the oppressed that our prosperity will continue. If we fall into a habit of sin, and tell God we are sorry but there is no life change, we will not experience sucess and righteousness before God. It's only when we truly repent, which means turn away, that we will see God do the miraculous in our lives.

Really good blog! Since God has saved us and there is nothing the devil can do about it (John 10:28), what is the only thing the devil can do?

The only thing that the devil can do is to make us ineffective, and to keep us from claiming the full benefits of our salvation. If he can’t attack our salvation, he will try to attack the joy, peace and happiness that salvation is supposed to bring. He does this by accusing us and kicking us while we are down. After committing sins and asking for forgiveness we can have confidence that Christ forgives us and cleanses us from that sin (1 John 1:9) and He remembers that sin no more (Heb 10:17). But the devil tries to keep accusing us of past sins that have already been forgiven by God, and He spreads lies and thoughts that God is disgusted with us and can’t forgive us because we are too bad. This steals our peace and joy and causes us to worry and dwell on past mistakes and sins (believe me I know from experience). We loose sight of what Jesus has already done for us and this leads to a life that becomes a checklist of stuff not to do and stuff to do to make up for past sins and makes us ineffective. Jesus came to give us life to the fullest and it is a shame (myself included) that we allow the devil to rule over us and steal our happiness and joy. We need to start claiming the promises that were given to us through Jesus and His victory over sin and the devil.
